Emmanuel Owoicho Ameh has accumulated over 30 years’ financial services experience spanning banking, accounting, auditing, taxation, consulting as well as agribusiness.

A 1988 Graduate of Accounting from the University of Lagos, he commenced his banking career in November 1989 with the then Chartered Bank Ltd (now Stanbic IBTC) in Lagos where he rose rapidly to become an Assistant Manager in 1995. He later moved to Zenith Bank Plc in 1996 and managed various portfolios in operations, credit marketing, treasury, and compliance across different zones in Nigeria until April 2012 when he retired as the Deputy General Manager/Group Zonal Head of Abuja and North Central Region to pursue private career in accountancy, tax practice and consultancy.

In pursuit of public service experience, Mr. Ameh was appointed as Special Adviser, Economic Matters to the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in June 2015, a position he held until his appointment as an Executive Director at the Bank of Agriculture in April 2017.  At the Bank of Agriculture, Emmanuel developed an interest in agriculture and agribusiness, and commenced farm projects; and also got appointed to the Board of two key agriculture commodity associations after leaving the Bank in 2020. Tilldate, he is a Board of Trustee Chairman of the North Central Rice Farmers and Millers Association; as well as a Board member of an integrated farming company, JiPEM Agro-allied services Ltd.

He  is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management of Nigeria as well as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN). Mr. Ameh also became an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria in 2018.

A widely traveled man, and Community Leader, Mr. Ameh has attended several professional development programmes within and outside the country including Harvard Kennedy School, Boston USA, Lagos Business School (Pan African University), JP Morgan Training School in the UK amongst others.

He earned an MBA from the University of Abuja in 2006 and is currently a Doctoral student in Governance and Leadership at the Abuja Leadership Centre of the same University.

He is the founder and Chief Executive of Amex Associates Limited, a successful financial and management consultancy group. He currently combines this consultancy work with the management of the audit, tax, and accounting practice under E. O. Ameh & Co (Chartered Accountants and Tax Practitioners).

He is happily married with four children.
